Wow! It’s all happening in the wonderful world of Interactive whiteboards!

Francis Jones has just spent a highly successful couple of days in Luxemburg, at the Ministry of Education, training teachers in the use of Promethean boards. Congratulations to him – see the photo of the participants who were really pleased at the high level of input and extensive practice provided by the course.

I was blown away by the Promethean board I saw last week at the World of Learning in Brum (that’s Birmingham not-Alabama) which could cope with FOUR simultaneous users (I kid you not).

I am manically preparing for the CPD session next week at BELTE, Brighton. Cannot wait.

Then, Kevin and myself are going to my academic home (Cantabrigia – urbs Angliae in qua sita est Universitas Cantabrigiensis) to engage with Hitachi IWBs. Cool.

After that, it’s the Macmillan Virtual Conference, when I suggest “If you’ve got one, flaunt it’ – sorry, use it.

I’m just about to blog for iTilt – a European project which aims to promote best practice in communicative language teaching using interactive whiteboards

I wonder if this surge of interest has anything to do with our latest book? Banish the thought! The author team, hungry for more, are making a video of ourselves (Pete, Barney and Francis himself, hidden away in Wales near where Torchwood was filmed aka ‘boys on film’) introducing the various strands of the book.

All building up to the English UK training day next year (February) in London.

As someone once said, “I cannot imagine teaching without my Smartboard”. That’s pretty much how we all feel, although it might be Smart, Promethean, Hitachi or (who knows) another make….. it ain’t what it is, it’s what you do with it. Perhaps that goes for, er, many things in life?

IWB explosion – teacher training ramps up a gear!
