The Learning Technologies page in the current Business Issues looks at a range of new software to support teachers of business English and ESP.

Part one focuses on new discs from Macmillan to support their course books In-Company and The Business, and the multiROM from OUP’s business one:one.

It also looks at the second edition of the Macmillan English Dictionary.

There are many useful programs which can be downloaded from the Web for free. They are simple to use and supported by online communities of other users who can help with problems or questions. Part two, written by Barney Barrett, focuses on some useful free software to download.

One of the highlights of the course is the groundbreaking DVD-ROM, designed as part of a blended learning approach. A DVD-ROM essentially has larger storage space than a CD-ROM, enabling, for instance, good quality video.
