Assessment
It could be said that the most important thing that language teachers can do is assessment. At one level it provides feedback on progress during a course. At the other end of the scale it can define the course of learners’ lives when it applies to gatekeeper assessments for university entrance or achievement at the end of courses. Unfortunately, many language teachers have little or no training in this area.
Kevin Westbrook has been involved in several language assessment projects and has worked with various organisations as an item writer. He is now also undertaking a PhD in the field of language assessment. Combined with his experience in teaching English for Specific Purposes, this allows him to help individuals and organisations in a range of aspects relating to language testing.
Our training is modular and is thus easily adaptable to the needs of individuals and organisations. Download more information here:
In our training, we cover such areas as teaching for the test, rather than to the test, designing assessments, writing items and much more. They are suitable for language teachers, teacher trainers, academic managers and school directors.
